YOUR SUPPORT WILL FUND:
REFORESTATION OF 25,000 NATIVE TREES

In 2015, GSE leaders will reforest 125 acres of degraded tropical dry forest in Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador to mitigate climate change, reverse soil erosion, and restore bio-diversity. Ecuador suffers 98% coastal deforestation- among the highest rates in Latin America. GSE has developed effective strategies for reforestation and our students have planted 30,000 trees to date!

2,500 Environmental Leaders in Training

GSE’s model emphasizes teaching through doing! Students create real regenerative impact while developing valuable cross-cultural communication and advocacy skills. School gardens and nature preserves are our classrooms in Northern California, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

17 Student-Driven School Gardens

GSE youth leaders across our three partner communities lead the design, building and maintenance of sustainable gardens in school and community spaces. Students practice sustainable farming techniques and produce thousands of pounds of organic food to support community members in need.
